Tips for Choosing the Right Floor Carpets For Your Home

There is something special about homes with floor carpets. There may be kids running about and busy housewives walking across the room, but even then, you don’t hear the sound of footsteps in the house, which can, at times be very annoying. And it is not just this. Houses with floor carpets tend to appear and be much warmer than houses with tiled flooring. The softness of the floor will make you want to throw away your bedroom slippers and walk barefoot. You may be on your feet for hours and still not feel tired as your feet are on a lush and soft surface.

The Color
The color of the carpet plays a major role in determining the look and feel of your house. If you are looking for something safe that can never go wrong, beige is the color that you can go for. It makes your room look brighter, does not fade easily and will match any interior in your room. But if you want to be more experimentative, earthy tones are in fashion and can give your house a warm look and feel. Jewel tones and colors like black, white and grey would be ideal for detail oriented people. Darker carpets may hide stains but can fade if they are exposed to a lot of sunlight.

The Material
When it comes to choosing the material, there are two things that you need to keep in mind. One is stains and the other is durability. As nylon carpets are highly durable and resistant to wears, they are ideal for houses that have a lot of people living in them. If you have pets or kids, then it would be wiser to opt for polyester carpets as they are stain resistant and can be maintained with ease. If you are looking for something with both the above features, then you can go for a floor carpets made with triexta fibre. These carpets are stain as well as weather resistant, as a result of which they last longer and are also very easy to maintain.

The Pile
If comfort is what you are looking for, cut carpet piles, velvet piles, or Saxony cut piles are what you need. The carpets are very soft and also very easy to clean. The drawback is that they get stained and also wear out with ease, unlike uncut carpet piles, that last longer and don’t make stains too visible. However, uncut carpet piles may not feel as soft as cut carpet piles. Textured cut piles and frieze cut piles are other good options as they last longer, hide stains and are not as rough as uncut carpet piles.
